"I loved the beautiful and well-organized space that Little Pearl has for the students to work...I loved being able to give my daughter the chance to work with other kids in a purely creative setting and...the chance to have her learn from such a passionate and skilled artist/arts educator...My daughter absolutely loved getting to go to class each week, it was a huge highlight for her to get to work on creative projects alongside other art-minded children. She learned a lot of new technical skills that she hadn't had any exposure to yet, like drawing in perspective, and how to plan out and execute a painting from sketch to final piece. She left the class with a new sense of pride in her work and a lot of enthusiasm about her new skills...The value received from this class was far beyond what we paid for it."

"The art class had a positive impact on my daughter, fostering her self-confidence, encouraging creative exploration, and providing a fun and engaging experience. She LOVED the self-portrait project, where she had the opportunity to use various materials to create an image of herself. This activity not only allowed her to explore her physical features but also encouraged her to express her personality and emotions creatively. It was a fun and meaningful experience and we still have it hanging in her room!"

"I loved the Matisse art camp... C absolutely loved going to camp everyday. I love how Irene provides instruction and inspiration, but C’s creativity is what drives her projects. Irene also sends information about what the kids learned about. It was really fun to talk about it with C that night after camp was over... She is learning new ways to engage in art. She’s learning a lot more art vocabulary and techniques! I love that she’s in a space where her creativity is channeled and grows... I wish she could go to camp all summer!"

Hello! My name is Irene Lim and I am a K-12 certified art teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience at a public elementary school. After receiving a BFA in Industrial Design I pursued my true passion of Art Education and received my MAT at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
One of my greatest joys as a teacher is seeing a child’s face light up with pride after they’ve created something using their own two hands. I truly believe that supporting a child in their creative journey can have a lasting impact on their self-confidence as adults and the social impact they will have in their futures, no matter their career.
After motherhood I made the transition to teaching private art classes which has led me to the creation of Little Pearl Art Studio. Currently classes are designed for ages 4-8, but my hope is to keep growing and offer more classes in the future. Thanks for visiting Little Pearl Art Studio!

I strive to instill and nurture creative confidence in my student artists. Each child is unique and their specific needs vary. My goal is to get to know each child and modify to best support their artistic journeys. This may look like providing concrete examples and demonstrations of techniques as well as making space for creative choice and exploration. Art-making encourages curiosity in all children and I want to make sure this curiosity is never stifled but nourished. Little Pearl Art Studio was created to be a place for little artists to expand their knowledge and views about art while making meaningful personal connections through their art-making.
